The Academy of International Business (referred to as Academy for the rest of this document) has created this privacy statement in order to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy. The following discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for this website:

Collection and Use of Personal Information

As part of the membership process, we require users to provide us with contact information (name, email address, mailing address, phone and fax number). The membership form also includes several optional fields that related to the member's areas of interest and current affiliations.

The contact information collected is used by the Academy in relation to servicing the user's membership; such as, sending them various publications that are part of the membership benefits, important announcements in regards to Academy activities, chapter activities, and renewal reminders. The customer's contact information is also used to contact the visitor personally if necessary, again in regards to servicing the user's account.

The contact information and the optional fields are also made available on an online directory, a membership benefit for networking purposes, and is only accessible to the current members of the Academy.

From time to time, limited member contact information is also made available to select third-parties who offer products and services in relation to the academic profession. The limited contact information provided to such parties only include names and mailing addresses; they do NOT include phone numbers, fax numbers or e-mail addresses. The information is provided to these select third parties for only a single use and the third party is required to provide a copy of their mailing to the Academy to ensure its relevancy to our members. Members have the option of opting out from receiving future mailings from these third parties; please see the choice/opt-out section below.

Collection and Use of Electronic Information

The Academy's Internet servers collect a variety of non-personal information as part of their standard operation from visitors of the site. This information includes the IP address of the visitor, the browser being used, the time of the visit, and the pages on the site being visited. We use this information to help diagnose problems with our server, to administer our Web site, and to conduct basic statistical analysis at an aggregate level in order to make future enhancements to the Academy's web site.

In addition, our site uses "cookies" to keep track of a visitor's ongoing access to the site. These "cookies" include only information that relates to the user's current visit to the site and to ensure that only members can access the members-only parts of the web site. If a user does not wish to allow cookies to be used, most browsers have options to disable their use. However, members will no longer be able to login to the website to access members-only benefits, if cookies are indeed disabled.

This site contains numerous links to third party sites. The Academy is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. These links are provided as a convenience to our visitors. The existence of a third party link does not imply endorsement by the Academy of the site or its owners.

Security of Information

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control.


The Academy of International Business allows its members to opt out from receiving third party mailings as described above in the Collection and Use of Personal Information section. A member may request to be removed from these mailing lists by contacting the AIB Executive Secretariat at . Please be sure to include your full name and your membership ID to ensure timely and correct processing of your request. If such a request is received, the Academy will remove the member's information from mailing lists provided to third parties.

Reviewing and Updating Personal Information

This site gives users the following options for reviewing, changing, and modifying information previously provided:
