The AIB 2012 meeting will take place at the Ronald Reagan Building on historic Pennsylvania Avenue in the heart of Washington, DC.
The venue is less than a 10 minute walking distance (6 blocks) from the conference hotel. Both the hotel (Metro Center station) and the venue (Federal Triangle Station) are directly on the Blue and Orange Metro Lines (one stop from the hotel to the metro) and both facilities provide direct access to the metro station from within their buildings.
Important: Please note that the Ronald Reagan Building is a U.S. government facility. As you enter, you will be asked to pass through metal detectors and show a picture ID. It is critical that you carry your picture ID (drivers license or passport) with you during the conference period.
Centrally located in trendy Penn Quarter – with convenient in-lobby Metro Center access – this downtown Washington DC hotel is an ideal spot to explore the nation’s capital. The hotel includes stylish guestrooms, multiple dining venues, a full service business center, and a fitness center. To qualify for the discounted rates for our conference, you must identify yourself as a member of the Academy of International Business Annual Conference. You must reserve your room by May 26, 2012 to receive the special rates below. Please note that the number of rooms at this rate are limited, and are available only on a first-come-first-serve basis.
The rated listed are either for two double bed or one kind bed rooms. Children aged 18 years or younger can stay for free of charge in their parent's rooms. Please note that the room rates below do not include the 14.5 percent room tax.
You can reserve rooms through the online system, or by contacting the hotel by phone or fax. Please note that the online reservation system only offers rooms for the June 26-July 5 period. If your planned stay exceeds these dates or you wish to inquire about additional room options, please contact the hotel directly.
The Grand Hyatt is above the Metro Center Metro Station (blue, red, and orange lines) and at the corner of 11th and H Streets NW.
If you are arriving at the Reagan National Airport (DCA), you can take the blue metro line directly to the hotel (the fare is about US$2). A taxi ride would take about 15 minutes and should cost around US$20. A shared van ride is available from Super Shuttle for US$14.
If you are arriving at Dulles International Airport (IAD), a taxi ride would take about 27 miles and cost around US$60. A shared van ride is available from Super Shuttle for US$29. You can also take the Washington Flyer Coach Service to Metro West Falles Church Station and connect to the Orange Metro line for a cost of US$10.
If you are arriving at Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), a taxi ride would take a little over 30 miles and cost around US$90. A shared van ride is available from Super Shuttle for US$37. It is also possible to use a combination of MetroBus and MetroRail to get to the hotel for a lower cost.
