AIB 2006 Annual Meeting
Beijing, China
June 23 - 26, 2006

Visa Requirements: All visitors traveling to mainland China, whether for business or pleasure, require a visa. A single entry visa should be sufficient for most AIB members, since it is usually valid for 3 months after the issue date and will permit you to stay in China for a maximum of 30 days. Please note that it is very difficult to obtain a visa at Chinese border entry points. Therefore, you should ensure that you obtain the appropriate visa before leaving the country where you live. The costs and the length of time to process a visa vary from country to country, therefore please contact the Chinese Embassy or Consulate in your country to find the information applicable to you.
Passport Requirements: The Chinese Visa Application will require that your passport be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel, and that it has at least one blank visa page (amendment pages and pages with bar codes are not acceptable for visa stamping). If your passport does not meet these requirements, please renew your passport or get a new one before you apply for a Chinese Visa.

For U.S. Residents, we have negotiated with a visa processing service to facilitate the process, details are in the section below. For countries other than the U.S., Metropolitan Express has associate services they are in contact with that they can refer you to. Please contact Metropolitan Express for more information. Remember to mention that this is for the "2006 Academy of International Business Conference in Beijing, China, June 23-26, 2006".

The China Consulate in Chicago has a very thorough website with detailed information including visa processing fees. Please note that the visa process in the U.S. requires the passport to be hand delivered to the Embassy or Consulate. You can take the application in yourself, or find someone to do it for you. If you would like to use a intermediary for this process, the Secretariat has negotiated with Metropolitan Express for a 50 percent discount on their service fees, for the purposes of the 2006 Conference.
