AIB Fellow - Sidney J. Gray
Sidney J. Gray BEc.Hons (Sydney), PhD (Lancaster), FASSA, FCCA, CPA, ACIS, MCMI is Professor of International Business and Co-Director of the International Entrepreneurship Research Group in the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Sydney. He was Head of the School of Business from 2003-2006 and Associate Dean (International) from 2006-2008. Prior to joining Sydney University he was the foundation Professor of International Business at the University of New South Wales. He was also formerly Professor of International Business at the Warwick Business School in England and Professor of Accounting and Finance at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Sid Gray’s main teaching and research interests are in the areas of international accounting and corporate transparency, international business strategy, and cross-cultural management. He is recognised in particular as one of the world’s leading scholars in international accounting. He is a winner of the American Accounting Association’s International Section award of "Outstanding International Accounting Educator” and was recently elected a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences in Australia for distinction in accounting research. Sid is a co-founder and currently Associate Editor of the Journal of International Financial Management and Accounting (USA) and a member of the editorial boards of a number of leading international business journals including Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) and Management International Review (MIR). Sid served as President of the International Association for Accounting Education and Research (IAAER) from 1992-97. He also served as a member of the Accounting Standards Committee (ASC) for the U.K. and Ireland, the peak standard setting body, from 1984-87. He is a co-founder of the Australia and New Zealand International Business Academy (ANZIBA), serving as President from 2002-2004, and a co-founder and Vice-President of the recently established Australia and New Zealand Chapter of AIB.
