AIB Fellow - Yadong Luo
Dr. Yadong Luo is the Emery M. Findley
Distinguished Chair on Graduate Business Studies, Chairman of the Department of
Management, and Professor of International Business and Strategy in the School
of Business, University of Miami. As one of the most productive IB scholars in recent
years, Professor Luo has authored 15
original books, over 130
referred journal articles, and over 100
other publications. His recent books include Global Dimensions of Corporate Governance (Blackwell), Co-opetition in International Business
(Copenhagen), International Business
(with O. Shenkar, Wiley), How to Enter China: Choices and Lessons (University of Michigan Press), Entry and Cooperative Strategies in
International Expansion (Quorum Books), Multinational Enterprises in Emerging Markets
(Copenhagen), International Joint
Ventures: Theory and Practice (with A. Yan, M.E. Sharpe), Guanxi and
Business (World Scientific), among others.
Professor Luo has
contributed enormously to research on international business in emerging markets
and on the broad theme of global strategy and international management. His
works have been extensively published in JIBS and other IB outlets. Also as one
of the leading IB scholars contributing to the top management journals, his
papers appeared in AMJ, ASQ, AMR, SMJ, JAP, and OS, among others. His writing
on the recent development of international business and management in China is
particularly path-breaking and offers a wealth of understanding of the country
and IB activities that are unfolding there. Before coming to the US, Dr. Luo
was a frequent contributor to top IB journals in China and served as a
government official in charge of IB in Jiangsu for six years. Currently, he is a consulting editor of JIBS, editor of
Journal of World Business, and ERB member of several major journals. Dr.
Luo received more than a dozen of research and teaching awards at the
University of Miami and the University of Hawaii where he taught before moving
to Miami. He also holds distinguished honorary professorship in Fudan
University and Xi’an Jiaotong University, China.
