About Indianapolis
Indianapolis is the 12th largest city in the nation and has been ongoing a major revitalization in the last 10 years, while still maintaining its rich historic culture and architectural elements. Indianapolis is known as the "Crossroads of America" due to its easy accessibility from a wide variety of locations, with many interstate highways bisecting the city. Travel Information
Indianapolis International Airport
Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is located less than 15 minutes via interstate highway from downtown Indianapolis. Indianapolis International is served by 10 major and 19 national passenger airlines and offers 39 daily non-stop flights with additional service to more than 100 locations. From the Airport
Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is located approximately 15 miles southwest of The Westin Indianapolis Hotel and Resort. A number of options are available to get to the Westin Hotel from the airport:
Carey Indiana Limousine: Offers both private and a shared ride limo service. The shared ride is $11 per person plus gratuity; the reservation would be set up based upon your flight information, and you would need to go to the Ground Transportation Center, where you would be picked up within a 20 minute window. They may stop at one or two other hotels downtown. A private car would be $54 plus gratuity. Scheduled City Bus Service: City bus service to downtown Indianapolis with stops on the city's west side is available at the Courtesy Vehicle Island across from the Northwest, Midwest Connect baggage claim areas. For more information, call +1-317-635-3344 or visit the IndyGo website.
Taxi Service: Taxi service is available on the Terminal side of Lower Terminal Drive. Push the taxi call button curbside at the taxi area to call your cab. Fares start at USD 7 minimum and are metered. The cost to Westin should run approximately USD 25. Tipping taxi drivers is customary in the USA.
Rental Car: All car rental counters are located on the Lower Level Terminal Drive, across from baggage claims 1-4. There are counters for the majority of national and international chains. Hertz offers discounts for AIB conference attendees, so please make sure to check their rates. Please note that the Westin Indianapolis Hotel has a surcharge for overnight parking.
Attractions
Indianapolis Zoo
Indianapolis Zoo is located close to downtown and opens at 9 am daily. Highlights of the zoo include Indiana’s largest aquarium, open exhibit areas with 350 different animal species. Since opening in 1964, the Indianapolis Zoo has grown into a world-class facility hosting a million visitors each year. Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, opened in 1909, is the world's largest spectator facility and the only racetrack to host the Indy Racing League, NASCAR and Formula One. Since 1911, the Speedway has been the home of the "Greatest Spectacle in Racing," the Indianapolis 500 each May. The Allstate 400 at the Brickyard (formerly Brickyard 400) has quickly become one of NASCAR's most coveted races since the inaugural event in 1994 and heats up the track in late July. The Speedway completed the Triple Crown of Racing in 2000 with the addition of June's United States Grand Prix, the only Formula One race run in the United States.
The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum located on the grounds of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is recognized as one of the most highly visible museums in the world devoted to automobiles and auto racing.

NCAA Hall of Champions
The NCAA Hall of Champions tributes former NCAA students-athletes and champions, NCAA championship sports and a gallery for special exhibitions.
Admission: $3.00 adults and seniors; $2.00 students; children 5 and under free.
Hours: 10 am to 5 pm on Monday through Saturday, Noon to 5 pm on Sundays

- The Eiteljorg Museum's Indian Market allows guests to immerse themselves in the artwork, food and traditions of Native American cultures. Nearly 200 artists from more than 60 different tribes participate in the event, showcasing some of the finest traditional and contemporary pottery, painting, sculpture, jewelry and cultural items being produced today.
