The Indiana University CIBER is sponsoring the second annual AIB-CIBER Case Competition. The winner will receive a $1500 cash prize and the first runner-up will receive a $800 cash prize. The awards will be presented at the AIB Annual Meeting in San Juan, Puerto Rico, July 1, 2002.

All cases submitted to the case competition must be original, unpublished, and not more than 1 year old. They must be made available for inclusion in the CIBER Case Collection at the European Case Clearing House (ECCH). Normally, the case author will retain copyright. However, if the author does not have copyright, permission from the copyright holder for the case to be listed with the CIBER Case Collection at ECCH must be included with the case submission. Cases must be submitted in Word or WordPerfect format and include teaching notes. Submitted cases are formatted for the CIBER Case Collection and checked for completeness. Final author approval of edited version of the case is required before it is sent to ECCH for distribution.

Cases submitted for the CIBER Case Competition must fall within these guidelines.

1. Original case, written within the last two years, that has not been published or submitted for publication.
2. It is hoped that cases submitted to the case competition will be made available for inclusion in the CIBER Case Collection at the European Case Clearinghouse (ECCH). Cases submitted to CIBER must be in Word format and include teaching notes. CIBER will edit and format submitted case and, after receiving author approval, send the case on to ECCH.
3. Unless copyrighted by an organization, author(s) retain copyright of cases submitted to the CIBER Case Collection.
4. In the event that case is copyrighted by an organization, the author must obtain from the copyright owner either:
   1. Permission for case to be cross-listed at ECCH (with no logo or format changes)*, and/or
   2. Insert a footnote citation identifying the case as the winning submission of a CIBER Case Competition. For instance, “This case was the winning (first place winner, second place winner) of the [Year] [Association Name]-Indiana University Center for International Business Education and Research (IU CIBER) International Case Competition. IU CIBER is funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. A copy of the case with citation should be provided to IU CIBER.
