ACADEMY OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS - U.S. WESTERN REGION CHAPTER
2002 Chapter Activity Report
(By: "Ram" Sundaresan Ram, Chapter Chair)
First, I would like to send my best wishes to all my friends from around the
world, who are fortunate enough to have made it to Puerto Rico.
While enrollment remains fairly stable in the region, the primary issue has been
to find sponsors for the regional conference on an annual basis. Towards this
end, two options are being explored:
- Collaboration with other regional chapters to run a common conference -
this would reduce the cost of sponsorship, and also prevent calendar "overload"
for potential participants (who are being bombarded with multiple International
Business conferences). If any of the chapter chairs present at this meeting
are interested in mutual collaboration on this front, I would be happy to
hear from them.
- Appointment of an office in the regional chapter for the primary purpose of
creating and managing the conferences on an annual basis - in order to this,
the bylaws of the chapter have to be modified, and then a formal nomination
and election process (with member approval) needs to be conducted. I have
obtained the mailing labels of the members from Laurel King, and am in the
process of doing this.
Hope to meet with you all next year.
Best regards,
"Ram" Sundaresan Ram
