ACADEMY OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS - U.S. SOUTHWEST CHAPTER
2000 Chapter Activity Report
The 2000 Academy of International Business U.S. Southwest Chapter Conference was held in San Antonio, Texas (March 16-18) in conjunction with the 2000 Southwestern Federation of Administrative Disciplines's (SWFAD) 27th Annual Conference. SWFAD is a collection of 13 business conferences/disciplines and was attended by 1250 participants from the U.S. and overseas. The elected Chapter officers for 2000-2001 are as follows:

The AIB-SW Chapter Organizing Committee planned a very timely and informative meeting. The following are the highlights of 2000 conference:
- A total of 21 sessions were organized and 57 papers were presented.
- 90 presenters and participants registered for the meeting.
- Two Special Panel Sessions were organized on the topic of "International Business in the 21st Century: A Special Panel on Views of Textbook Authors and IB Scholars"
(part I & II). Selected speakers for the special sessions included:
Michael Czinkota (Georgetown University), Masaaki "Mike" Kotabe (Temple University),
James Baker (Kent State University), John Graham (University of California, Irvine),
Svend Hollensen (University of Southern Denmark), and Kamal Fatehi (Texas A&M International University)
- The conference proceedings (Southwest Review of IB Research) was edited by Wolfgang Hinck, University of Texas, Pan American.
- In addition, at the annual banquet, the Southwest Chapter recognized Kerry Cooper, Executive Director of CIBER, Texas A&M University as the IB Academic/Director of the year. Raymond Brimble, Managing Partner, Lynxs Group, Austin, Texas was recognized as the IB Business Person of the year in the Southwest. All the program committee members, conference track chairs, and best papers authors were recognized for their contributions as well.
