The AIB Canadian Division is affiliated with the Administrative Sciences Association of Canada (ASAC), the umbrella organization for various business disciplines in Canada. The chapter is actually ASACıs International Business Division and consists of about 55 members; the number has risen in the last few years. Among the ASAC Divisions, it is approximately 25% larger than the mean division size, but considerably smaller than the largest division, Organizational Behaviour. The Division does not maintain its own finances separately from ASAC.

This yearıs meetings were held June 14-17, 2003, in Halifax and last yearıs at the end of May in Winnipeg. The special features of last yearıs conference were a Divisional Keynote Speaker and an extra mini-conference held on May 28-29, 2002, following the regular ASAC Conference. The theme was "Rethinking Globalization." More than 50 people participated. For this yearıs regular 3-day ASAC Conference, 22 submissions were received. They were all peer-reviewed using a double blind procedure; 11 papers were accepted for inclusion in the proceedings. In addition, there were 7 papers and one symposium accepted for presentation only. The IB Division Best Paper Award this year went to Raymond Poisson, et. al. at the Université Laval, and the Honourable Mention went to Hamid Etemad from McGill University.

Next yearıs conference will be in Quebec City (Laval University), then Toronto (Ryerson University), followed by Banff, Alberta (University of Lethbridge).

The current officers are:
Division Chair: Jim Tiessen, McMaster University
Program Chair: Howard Lin, University of Windsor
Academic Reviewer: Elie Chrysostome, Université de Moncton
Liaison to AIB: Bernard Wolf, York University

In the forthcoming year, aside from having an excellent annual conference and increasing the Divisionıs own membership, the Division will encourage more ASAC members to join AIB and vice versa. We are anxious to increase membership in view of AIBıs 2005 meetings in Quebec.
