Ph.D. Research Position at the Center for Competitiveness of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland). Funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation The Center for Competitiveness of the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) invites applications for a 2-year full-time research Ph.D. position beginning in 2010. A third and fourth year is not excluded.


Job Description: We are looking for candidates who can maintain a stream of quality research and deliver high quality research in the field of Chinese Foreign Direct Investments in Europe with a special focus on their impact on competitiveness of host countries, in particular Switzerland. The thesis will be written in English. The position is a 100% research Ph.D. position and is affiliated with the Center for Competitiveness. The position is fully funded for two years by the Swiss National Science Foundation (a third and fourth year is not excluded). The salary is competitive and in the range of around 40,000 CHF per year. The person we hire will have a completed masters degree. To be registered as a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Fribourg: Candidates who have a master degree from the University of Fribourg should comply with the acceptance requirements of the University of Fribourg. Candidates who have a master degree from another university need to provide a statement that he/she would be accepted as a Ph.D. candidate in his/her home university.
