Department of Business Administration Accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), University of the West, located in the City of Rosemead, Los Angeles County, California, has entered a new phase of expansion. The mission of the University is to provide a whole person education in a context informed by Buddhist wisdom and values and facilitate cultural understanding and appreciation between East and West.  The University invites applications to join its growing efforts for a full-time Assistant Professor in Management or Marketing in the Department of Business Administration to begin in Spring 2010. Candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching, and professional academic service.



Qualifications:

• Ph.D. (or near completion), in Business Administration or Management, or DBA with preferred specialization in Management or Marketing;


• Prior teaching experiences a plus, but not required.


• Demonstrated ability to engage in research and publications also a plus.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse environment.


• Demonstrated ability to integrate UWest's unique mission/values into the course curricula.


• Strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching.


• Strong commitment to interdisciplinary education and research, and professional academic service.


• Demonstrated ability to advance the university's commitment to expanding and enhancing its programs.


• Demonstrated ability to do research and publish papers a plus.
